 The
ECats sites use mainly Microsoft technology. The main server runs
IIS, SQL Server, Index Server and Exchange Server. Most of the ECats
sites make extensive use of Javascript and Active Server Pages as
well as the amazing Macromedia Flash technology for animations and
buttons on some sites.
By investing in its
own server and leased line, ECats is able to make full use of any
technology that becomes available. ECats currently uses Web Trends
for reporting stats from its servers.
ECats develops e-commerce
sites, frequently using SECPay
to deal with the secure payments. We either develop custom shopping
baskets, or recommend products like Actinic
Catalog to our clients.
Our main area of
development over the past few months has been in the arena of Sports
Scoring - dynamic scoring across Internet for sports events. More
details can be found in the Sports Scoring section of this site.
Internet technology
is extremely fast moving, with new products being released almost
daily. ECats aims to keep up with the market place and constantly
researches these new programs and ideals. This enables Mark, in his
capacity as Contributing Editor for PCPro, to keep abreast with developments
and write about them. Many of his articles can be found in the Articles
